Closing statements were presented at today’s hearing of the Hasib Cehic trial. The cantonal prosecution of Bihac has called for a guilty verdict, while the defense has requested an acquittal. Cehic, a former member of the National Defense of the Western Bosnia Autonomous Region, has been charged with war crimes in the Cazin and Velika Kladusa area.
Witnesses testifying at a trial dealing with war crimes committed in Velika Kladusa said they knew defendant Zlatko Husidic but hadn’t heard that he had beaten anyone.

Testifying in his own defense, Hasib Cehic said he didn’t physically abuse prisoners in the Cazin and Velika Kladusa area in 1994 and 1995.

The defense of Sakib Dautovic asked the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to acquit him or repeal the initial verdict. Dautovic was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for crimes committed in Velika Kladusa.
Prosecution witnesses testifying at the Hasib Cehic trial said the defendant participated in their physical abuse after their capture in the Vrnogrc area.
Testifying in his own defense, Hasan Icanovic said he handed Latica Glavica captives to the military police and heard that they had been killed while being interrogated.
The state prosecution has filed an indictment against nine former members of the Fifth Corps of the Bosnian Army, charging them with crimes in the Cazin, Velika Kladusa and Buzim areas.
