The state prosecution called upon the appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court to increase the sentence against Ibro Macic. Macic’s defense requested that the court either renew the trial or hand down an acquittal.
The Bosnian state court has sentenced Ibro Macic to ten years in prison for war crimes in the Konjic area.
The Bosnian state court will pronounce a first instance verdict against Ibro Macic, accused of having committed war crimes in Konjic, on April 17.
Ibro Macic’s defense presented its closing statement today, and asked the court to hand down an acquittal in the case.
Presenting her closing statement at the Ibro Macic trial, prosecutor Sanja Jukic said Macic was guilty of war crimes in the Konjic area and should be sentenced accordingly.

Testifying as a court expert, neuropsychiatrist Abdulah Kucukalic described former Bosniak fighter Ibro Macic as an emotionally immature person with “mild mental retardation.” Kucukalic has been ordered by Bosnia’s state court to examine Macic, as per a request by his defense.
