The cantonal court of Zenica has postponed the beginning of the Fadil Dajic and Vahid Hadrovic retrial due to Dajic’s poor health.
Trial chamber chair Nermin Tesnjak said Dajic requested that the case against him be separated due to his poor health.
Dajic and Hadrovic have been charged with killing a Serb civilian in Plandiste near Kakanj on June 9, 1993.
Last year they were each sentenced to ten years in prison, but the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina repealed the verdict and ordered a retrial.
Tesnjak said an expert examination of Dajic would be performed, after which the retrial would be rescheduled.
Hadrovic’s defense attorney, Vasvija Vidovic, said her client’s previous defense attorney had not reviewed the prosecution’s file and requested that all evidence be submitted to her prior to the beginning of the trial.
