Analysis - Verdict in Salcin Trial Upcoming, Defense Claims Case of Mistaken Identity

After a trial that has lasted more than two years, the Bosnian state court will hand down a verdict in the case of Dzevad Salcin, a former member of the Bosnian Army charged with crimes on Mount Igman in the municipality of Hadzici. The verdict has been scheduled for January 21.

Salcin Verdict Postponed

The announcement of the verdict in the Dzevad Salcin trial has been postponed by the Bosnian state court. A new date will be set at a later stage. Salcin has been charged with committing war crimes on Mount Igman.

Verdict in Salcin Trial Scheduled for December 30

Presenting its closing statement, the defense of Dzevad Salcin called upon the trial chamber to find Salcin not guilty of wartime prisoner abuse. According to Salcin’s defense, the state prosecution didn’t demonstrate that Salcin was responsible for the abuse of wartime prisoners on Mount Igman in 1993.

Verdict for Trusina Crimes in July
