The state prosecution has called for the repeal of the Dzevad Dulic verdict, which acquitted him of committing wartime rape in the Cazin area in December 1993. The defense objected to the proposal.
Closing statements were presented at today’s hearing of the Hasib Cehic trial. The cantonal prosecution of Bihac has called for a guilty verdict, while the defense has requested an acquittal. Cehic, a former member of the National Defense of the Western Bosnia Autonomous Region, has been charged with war crimes in the Cazin and Velika Kladusa area.
Following a retrial, the cantonal court of Bihac acquitted Muhamed Anadolac of charges of war crimes in Bihac and Cazin.
The state prosecution has filed an indictment against Sefer Dervisevic, suspected of war crimes against the civilian population in the Cazin area.
Testifying in his own defense, Hasib Cehic said he didn’t physically abuse prisoners in the Cazin and Velika Kladusa area in 1994 and 1995.
The state prosecution has called upon the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to hand down a longer sentence in the case of Redzep Beganovic. Beganovic’s defense has requested a repeal or an acquittal. Beganogic has been charged with war crimes in Cazin.
The state prosecution has filed an indictment against nine former members of the Fifth Corps of the Bosnian Army, charging them with crimes in the Cazin, Velika Kladusa and Buzim areas.
The Bosnian state court will hand down a first instance verdict on Friday, September 11, in the Dzevad Dulic trial.
