The Supreme Court of Republika Srpska confirms a verdict pronounced by the District Court in Eastern Sarajevo, acquitting Milivoje Asonja and Ilija Djeric of the charges for crimes against Bosniak civilians in Rogatica in 1994.

On September 11, 2012 the Supreme Court rejected an appeal filed by the District Prosecution in Eastern Sarajevo, determining that it was unfounded, and confirmed the first instance verdict.

The District Court in Eastern Sarajevo pronounced the verdict on April 27, 2012, acquitting Asonja and Djeric, former members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, of having physically abused civilians Emin Pleho and Ramiz Katica, who were detained in the “Rasadnik” detention camp, Rogatica municipality, in April 1994.

Asonja and Djeric were acquitted of charges that they physically attacked Pleho and Katica in April 1994, while the two men were working to repair a road in Zemegresi village, where they had been brought from the “Rasadnik” detention camp.
