Trial of Kajdic and Rokvic Begins Again in February 2016
Goran Obradovic BIRN BiH Banja LukaThe trial proceedings against Sabahudin Kajdic and Stevo Rokvic will be renewed at the district court of Banja Luka next year, due to the replacement of a trial chamber member.
The district court decided to renew the trial on February 1, 2016, since Vesna Antonic, a member of the trial chamber, has been appointed the president of the Supreme Court of Republika Srpska. A new trial chamber member will take her place.
Kajdic and Rokvic, former members of the Bosnian Serb Army, have been charged with abducting a Bosniak civilian from a school building in the village of Gornja Puharska, near Prijedor, and killing him. The murder took place in mid-August 1992. The victim’s body has never been found.
The indictment against Kajdic and Rokvic was filed in May 2015.
