The Cantonal Court in Bihac confirms an indictment against Milutin Babic, charging him with crimes against prisoners of war in the Bosanski Petrovac area in the summer of 1992.
Babic is charged with having participated, together with Obrad Ozegovic and Slavko Stricevic, in the abuse of three captured members of the Territorial Defence from Sanski Most – Mustafa Cikota, Emsud Smailovic and Sadik Burnic, in Bravko village, Bosanski Petrovac municipality.
“After Ozegovic had killed captive Burnic, the indictee participated in carrying the body to Ravnica pit in order to conceal the crime. While Emsud Smailovic and Mustafa Cikota were carrying the body of the killed man, Slavko Stricevic shot at them. Cikota died immediately, while Smailovic fell to the ground and gave signs of life. Indictee Babic then shot him in his head,” the confirmed indictment alleges.
It further alleges that Babic and Stricevic then dumped the bodies of the killed men into a 20-metres deep pit.
Indictee Milutin Babic was extradited from Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of April this year. He has been held in custody in Luke prison in Bihac.
